New Security Emergency Number
Monday, March 1, 2010

Dear Residents,
Together with the USJ5RA, we are jointly organising our FAMILY DAY 2010, showcasing the “COLOURS of USJ5”. This will be a fun filled afternoon with lots of activities for residents of all ages.
At this event, we are also privileged to have one of our residents performing for the first time in our taman. He’s none other than Shawn Lee, the First Malaysian Beatbox Champion 2009! Look out for his vocal percussion performance at around 5pm – you will not want to miss it!!
OBJECTIVES
As always, the primary objective of this event is to promote neighbourliness amongst the residents of USJ5 and this of course, includes our neighbours living in 5/3 & 5/4. We are very fortunate that this year, we are able to collaborate with Dato K F Yap, Chairman of the USJ5RA and his Committee members to jointly bring you this colourful carnival that all involves all of USJ5.
At the same time, we are also raising funds for a good cause namely, Child Helpline Malaysia.
This is a free phone Helpline service for children under 18 years to call if they need someone to talk to or if they need any kind of assistance. We look forward to your generous support for our initiative.
FOOD & BEVERAGE (POT LUCK!)
What better way to round off this event than to sample some of the delightful cuisine prepared by the residents themselves! We invite to cook up a storm and to bring it along to the playground on event day between 4.00 to 5.00pm.
For planning purposes, we have attached a form for you to fill so that the organisers know what to expect on the day. Please take a couple of minutes to fill this up and return it to your street representative before the 5th March 2010. Your support is most appreciated.
13th March 2010 (Saturday) – Be sure to mark this date down in your calendar and keep the afternoon free to join us at the USJ5/1C Playground.

Security Alert!

This morning at about 9:25am, I was driving alone, along USJ 11/1G and I was driving very slowly because of a road hump and as I looked right, I saw a Chinese man on a motorbike right next to me and he was about to take a weapon from underneath his shirt to attack me. I could not see if it was a pistol, a knife or a hammer and all I could do at that time was to honk continuously. The loud honk caused him to turn away and I sped off, drove straight to the shops nearby and rang Chief Inspector Loi. I was only thinking of the next person he would be after in the neighbourhood and so I rang SJ Alert to notify the residents. I hope his motive was robbery and not something else. I thank God for keeping me safe. Please observe your surroundings at all times and be alert. "

The guards were also briefed on the action plan when the boom gates are down. Consequently, these briefings have helped the guards to execute their tasks effectively.
